Hello, friends! I hope this email finds you healthy and happy, which, based on current events, feels trickier than it sounds. My daughters are nursing what seem to be sharmless cough, but in the age of COVID, have been home for several days letting them run their course. I truly hope you are healthy and happy. This week was punctuated by meaningful projects that reminded me of my reasons for doing the work that I do: helping people connect more deeply with themselves and others. Early this...

Hello, friends! It's an exciting week on this end, with my youngest daughter turning 6 on Saturday. The last few days I've been preparing a sweet fairy garden party. With any luck, tomorrow the kids will all be casting nature spells and potting their own little plants to take home. In the meantime, I'm feeling scattered all to heck. I'm doing projects I enjoy, but my energy feels pretty spread out. Ever felt this way? I hear this from a lot of the moms I pass as I drop my kids off at school....

Happy Friday, friends! I spent a chunk of my week planning a birthday party for my youngest daughter, who's about to turn six years old. And, since the days practically overlap, I also started focusing on Mother's Day, which is coming up quickly here in the U.S. I've come to realize that it's one of those holidays I'm never prepared for. I envy the people who seem to always know just how to recognize special occasions. Instead, I'm forever struggling to choose gifts or know what to say to let...

Hello friends, As an introvert in a profession that involves more engagement than I might naturally seek out, I spend my down time looking for patterns between projects, relationships, and the things that come across my path. This week I've been surrounded by friends and colleagues feeling a call to get quiet and engage in deep work. One is facing a life-threatening health diagnosis and has decided it's time for a change. Another received a call this week at 4 am alerting her to a fire that...

Happy Friday! It has been a quiet week, the likes of one I've craved for months. It involved time with my daughters, including lots of talk about tooth fairies and the Easter bunny. There was much time devoted to dog walks and getting my hands dirty in a yard full of native plants and fruit trees. This morning I thinned my peach tree, which reliably produces hundreds of peaches just before summer. Thinning this tree is a painful, yet necessary process. The first year we had it, I left it...

Hello friends, It's been a few months since my last newsletter, and I've missed you! Life is evolving (as it does), and I've been adapting to meet the challenges. I recently completed a project that involved co-organizing TEDxSanDiego. I was lucky enough to pick the parts of the event I wanted to manage, which included coordinating and coaching a team of 20 speakers & performers for TEDxSanDiego. We had an amazing, experienced organizing team (which doesn't always happen), and every speaker I...

Happy Friday, friends! Welcome to the fourth weekly digest of content from The Quiet Voice Collective, an online community providing resources and support for those looking to use their voice more effectively in business. We started out as a group of introverts wanting to improve their public speaking skills, but I'm finding that our needs are more nuanced than that. We currently have 111 members, all of whom are graduates of Made To Do This. Our content is driven by your comments, questions,...

Hello, and happy Friday! Welcome to the second weekly digest from The Quiet Voice Collective, a gathering place for introverts with a message. We're currently a group of 109 members, compiled solely of graduates from Made To Do This. I like to start this email with some of your comments. Our members guide the content and projects I create, so it's fun to show what's driving my efforts. Here are some member contributions from this week: It seems we're all feeling the need to sink deeper and...
